The police in the US are bullies and murderers who routinely lie about the situation to not get indicted. Body cams were introduced to mitigate this, but police often don't have them on -- especially when it's convenient. There should be serious consequences for when a police officer doesn't have their cam on, at least/especially when they don't have it on for an event they were accused of committing a crime during; in that case, they should be treated as assumed guilty. Also, break the "blue code" by holding police seriously accountable for lying about or even failing to report their fellow officers' criminal actions.
