A movie about crazy people and homeless people.

Show the plight of a homeless person, how did he get into that position, it doesnt even have to be totally that he was screwed by the workforce and government. if he's screwed psychologically that's ok too, as long as the process is shown. also show the suffering he goes through since some people seem to think that donating to them is giving them too much. while we're showing this we can cut to people who brush contact with them, briefly. they make comments such as 'he should get a job' or 'they have no right to bother me' and stuff like that.

meanwhile we show a crazy person and his life. how do we show how it happened? the causes can be subtle, and elucidating them fully would fly too much in the face of accepted paradigm. it would defeat the purpose. i suppose we could just show that he's a normal person until he has to start dealing with these thoughts and experiences that happen to him and he tries to deal with it best he can like anybody else would. perhaps he ends up on the streets, although there is government assistence for people with schizophrenia. we cut to some people who call them simple things like crazy and freak and objectify/dismiss them. we cut to some lady who knew him as a kid and knew he was always a little off. she has a moment of reflection and says i wonder what ever happened to [...]. then her friend distracts her and wants to go to the mall and she changes modes to something chipper and they leave. we could also poke at more aspects of superficial culture. the crazy person could be living in total desperation and isolation. sitting on the side of a street with a beard and messed up clothes.

at the end of the movie the lady comes home to her comfortable house after an active day and lets out relaxing sigh and starts winding down for the night. as she does that we cut to starving peolpe in africa or starving people in haiti, children dying of starvation and their mothers holding them. nothing special going on at the moment, just the state of affairs. we start from a view from above showing an area of people and the view pans in some direction. eitther that or we show one kid from up close and then zoom out and keep zooming out until we see lots of starving people.

we do not exaggerate this lady. that would counter our purpose. she's pretty much normal. we are merely contrasting her with things we normally wouldn't, without any buffer zones.

for closure, how long do we show the starving people in haiti? an idea would be to keep panning for at least 45 minutes, until people get bored and leave, if it's hinted somehow from the start that it's the closing scene.

i would prefer some segue between the lady chillaxing and the scene in haiti. something that connects them both, and/or connects the two areas of the world. we could follow a molecule of water that goes down her sink drain all the way to haiti (in fast speed), or she could have bought some funny t-shirt at the mall and she's in the process of unfolding it and putting it away, and then we cut to some lady among those starving wearing the same t-shirt, for purely practical reasons, because it's the best she could get ahold of.

anohter idea: start with the kid close up with flies on her face, zoom out, you see the mother holding her has that shirt on. (a red shirt with some writing or a black shirt with red writing.) keep zooming until we see most of the earth, at which point we see a satellite go by. it could be Verizon or some other corporation, it could be the international space station, or it could indicate somehow that it's a US satellite holding nuclear arms. perhaps the international space station with some party ribbons and a party hat on it.

we might also touch on the gay issue. we can show the process of a boy discovering his sexuality, in parallel to the same process of a girl discovering her sexuality. you see that he doesn't decide to be gay, just like I don't decide to be straight. also show some piss-head throwing invectives at the boy for being gay, after which (the piss-head is now gone) he cries. not outright bawling, some sniffling and maybe some tears, with his head slightly down. i imagine he's sitting in the back seat of a car, with black upholstery, and the piss-head was just passing by. [it has to be parked somewhere where people would know about him, such as school or a party.]
the boy may see a psychologist at some time - maybe because his parents forced him to - and the psychologists asks him questions like, "does this turn you on at all? does this turn you on?"
we can also show a story of a girl and guy who are in love, but societal forces want to keep them apart. such as the fact that they are of two different religions, or her parents are racist, or she's a pricess and her parents are forcing her to marry certain royalty. (or that could be a movie he's watching). she screams "I love him!!" we also hear at some point words of wisdom, having to do with love conquering all. then we cut to and relate it to the boy somehow. for example it could be playing on his TV and then we see him lying in bed staring straight up. perhaps we zoom out from his forehead.
we might (at some point) have some christian fundamentalist spewing vitriole about gays. then we somehow segue to Jesus in the 1st century at a stoning, yelling out in the crowd, in Hebrew with subtitles, 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.'
